The refugee crisis has huge implications for Europe. TPW will visit Jordan, currently home to 1.3 million Syrian refugees, many of whom live in temporary refugee camps. We will spend 3 days meeting with refugees, non profit organisations, the private sector and Government to understand how various actors are intervening in the crisis. We will visit Za’atari refugee camp to observe the many challenges faced by refugees, and meet with a range of organisations supporting refugees. We will look at the community, market and government initiatives supporting refugee education, well-being, and income generation, to understand how philanthropists can intervene in a strategic way, beyond humanitarian care. For those currently working in, or wanting to intervene more strategically into the refugee crisis, this will be an exciting opportunity to engage with philanthropic peers and experts working in this space.
